Edinburgh Decorative & Fine Arts Society

Edinburgh Decorative and Fine Arts Society (EDFAS) is an affiliate society of The Arts Society.  In 2017 the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS) changed its operating name to The Arts Society. EDFAS was founded in 1970 as the Edinburgh Antiques and Fine Arts Society (EAFAS). We changed our name to Edinburgh Decorative & Fine Arts Society (EDFAS) in 2006. With over 900 members, EDFAS is the largest Arts Society-affiliated society. It meets as two groups, one in the afternoon at 2.30pm and the other in the evening at 7.00pm. All lecture meetings take place in The Freemasons’ Hall, 96 George Street, EH2 3DH.

Besides its lecture programme, EDFAS runs a large variety of visits and study days, often gaining access to houses, collections or experts not normally available to the public. Details of these are found on the Events/Tours page. We also co-ordinate a number of volunteer groups.

EDFAS publishes its newsletter twice a year; please view the latest newsletter here.

Airedale Solutions have made some design changes to our web site. If it looks a little odd please press the F5 key on your keyboard whilst viewing the page. That will remove old pages so that you can view the new ones.

Lectures will be held at The Freemasons' Hall, 96 George Street, EH2 3DH  at 2.30pm and 7.00pm
